From Broken to Hope: My ongoing journey with Microgreens

Tasty Little Leaves Microgreens was born in 2024 out of my personal health journey, anchored by my faith in Jesus, Jehovah-Rapha (the God who heals), as my guide for physical and emotional restoration.

For 10+ years, I held down a full-time job while serving as primary caregiver and medical coordinator for my elderly, disabled parent with complex medical issues. Then, in just two short years, my world was completely shattered.

During that intense window, I faced cancer, several blood transfusions, life-saving surgery, chemo, and radiation. My parent passed away, and because the radiation treatments had weakened my spine, I later suffered a far more severe back injury than I otherwise would have. My body responded to the compounding stress with a severe autoimmune reaction and was in chemical toxin overload.

I desperately needed targeted, pure nutrition to counteract the ongoing battle inside me—a break from chemicals and a heavy infusion of the dense vitamins found in foods like broccoli. Since traditional broccoli florets weren't an option, my search led me to microgreens: nature's concentrated powerhouses of living nutrition.

I started with a couple of trays, one of broccoli, the other kale. Because of physical limitations and immune considerations, soil wasn't an option.  This led me to master 100% hydroponic growing—ensuring every leaf is pristine, clean, and soil-free.

After consuming my fresh microgreens for just six weeks, my health began to turn around, and I haven't required a blood transfusion or hospitalization since.

Is the autoimmune response still active? Yes. Am I still eating microgreens? Absolutely. Healing can be immediate, but often it is an ongoing journey.

While I don't have a medical degree, I’ve learned firsthand in the "school of medical hard knocks" how transformative pure, living food can be. Today, I am blessed to share these nutrient-dense greens with families and chefs across Jacksonville—one tray at a time.

Please Note: I share my journey to give God glory and to encourage others. Every body and health journey is unique, and my personal results are not a substitute for professional medical care or a guarantee of similar outcomes.
